in the end deon finds out that he was mistaken all along and that his parents never sent him to the battlefield, it was fabricated. i think deon only found out when he died or something, he and cruel had alot of karma from what theyve done when they were living so deon took all of cruels karma causing deon to be blind in his future reincarnations (he** be blind forever even in another life)
