This is the only definitive spot the calculation is given. This is the spot the author tells you to look at to figure out the experience requirements.
chapter 2 where you try to keep pulling this stupid level up derangement you have is clearly wrong. Since panel 3 chapter 3 MC clearly stated 5,000 for level 11 which is triple so thus 1,000x2^9x3.
