This trend towards exaggerated misery and suffering leading to a non-cathartic, drawn out pity party to wrap up the story is disheartening. I can't imagine even the most angsty teenagers enjoying that kind of story that much. But maybe I'm wrong. There's more of these nauseating stories everyday.
