Dan deserves so much better. Joo could find a hardcore maso***** but instead seems to enjoy the fact that Dan absolutely hates everything he does. Not giving a da** about his black eye and pulverized neck was so awful. He doesn't seem to have even one positive characteristic. I'm actually surprised he hasn't carelessly killed one of his s** partners yet. There are worse characters in terms of the levels of cruelty and harm (pimping them out, almost killing them, brutal torture, kidnapping) they subject their partners to but he's gotta be one of the most loathsome for me.

Me too. Someone can be quite unemotional and seemingly cold but it doesn't mean they really feel nothing. I think he's capable of being loving and devoted even if it's in his reserved way. I've known these types irl and they might not cry or be physically affectionate but they can care a lot. He just needs to open up to Jeon-oh and apologize. I think the author heavily implied they wanted that for the ending so we will see.
