@Devouring kdjs a** rn I don't know if there's an English word to show that sense of respectful closeness which I'm guessing he's trying to get. But agree, looks weird, I would prefer if they simply used hyung and just put a translation note for newer readers, but at least they didn't used "brother" because it always gets complicated when they do that with no family
