If I remember right he goes to her after some time saying her that it's time to come back (because as we can see he thinks that Erna is just throwing a tantrum 🤡🤡🤡). But of course Erna says "no beach, let's divorce" that leaves Bjiorn speechless not expecting that outcome🤣🤣🤣😅. At this point we can say that the redemption arc starts. Bjiorn starts coming and going from Buford just to see Erna that doesn't even give a sheet (as it should be). 
A very very very sweet thing I remember he does is making three snowmans: him, Erna and their unborn baby🥲😭😭😭. That part in the novel was so heartbreaking 🤧🤧🤧 and so well written. 
Unfortunately I don't remember everything that happens, but with time he seems to behave better that even the grandmother talks to Erna about thinking of forgiving him. BUT Erna has become an independent queen and doesn't want to hear a word. 
BUT, again, this novel has to have an hea, so Erna of course forgives bjiorn. How? When? Where? 
Bjorn was in Buford but because of some official matters he had to go back. Erna was already thinking of telling him how she really felt, but not until she talked to the grandmother she convinced herself to do this. So she hurried to the trains station to go to him. But the train she is in is involved in an accident (it derailed I think🤔). When Bjiorn comes to know this goes mad mad crazy. Coming to the site he starts searching for her on the train, screaming her name but he can't find her. Finally someone says him that she is safe in a tent resting. When they reunite they finally confess to each other but unfortunately no passionate kiss as stated on the front-page of the newspaper of the next day🤣🤣🤣🤣.
