@karma yeah but like, that's the main reason, they once where young and where up to stuff, they obv will try to guide their child through the path that might be and seems to be better than the one they took or they're just protecting them, I've noticed this clash between many country's like, Latam parents tend to be super over protective because of the high rate of delinquency, Asian parents tend to be strict with the students to assure a wealthy future for their children or that Americans treat their children like friends instead of family and not protect them as the former ones (that's one of the main reasons I hate going to the US lol I hate seeing kids all over the place without an eye on, teens being delinquents because their parents are giving them space to comprehend what they're growing into like you need to keep an eye on your child even if they're 15 yk that's when they're more vulnerable to bad influences and that keeps on going until they're 20 or 30 or 40, a parent should always keep an eye on their children even if they're already mature adults cuz they know better in most cases since they already went through life many years earlier 

It's true it's tiring when they scold you for changing friends that don't seem to be good for you but that's life, if you're a minor and your parents tell you that your friends don't seem good the least thing you should do is go against them, just ask yourself if what your parents think might be true, they already probably had bad friends and want to avoid you having to go through that too
