My problem with action genre having romance is that generally writers that write action are terrible at writing romance. The love between the characters is usually really lame and simplistic. Don't get me wrong, if they could make it good, it would be great.
In the case of Solo Leveling, I finished the novel and red the webtoon a couple of times and I can assure you that this love plot between Cha Hae In and Sung Jin Woo adds nothing to the story, it's just fanservice to make the MC look cooler, which I think it's completely unnecessary.
