the biggest difference in the novel are, Kripmen was using a sword the entire fight, Ed was actually doing serious damage on Kripmen and this form is supposed to be his low health second phase form, Ed actually had a bit of an existential crisis after learning real Ed offed himself and even talked with another version of him in his mind. and finally Matilda was there for most of the fight
