I wanna vent a little today. My brother introduced to our family his girlfriend yesterday and everyone was okay with it but I can't. The reason? He is 18 and the girlfriend is 34. Since she is an adult with her own place, car and good job my parents don't seem to care about it, but hello he is 18 barely legal working for the first time where he met this woman and started dating after a couple of months in the job, had to resign to date her and I feel so disgusted because what kind of person in their 30s would date someone who is 18? He is still a kid to me, I am his big sister being 24 and would never put my eyes on a 18 year old kid so this woman is a pedo in my eyes and my family gave me a hard time for looking at her badly the whole time but I regret nothing. I hate her

@EF i it isn't bad though because I seen in social media a millionaire old lady spoiling a young man. But nowadays what exactly is this culture going for real. Young men are dating old woman and young girls are dating old man. These folks rather than search for people their age they just marry someone with money and wealth. Is the market demands for young girls and young boys are that high. That boys are force to marry a rich woman rather than search for their own age girl and girls would rather marry some white hair oldman than search for partners their age. Now I am missing those cultures of child marriage which happens before 90s in southern Asian part where children below age of 18 marry without search for partners. But still that culture brings some trouble but it wasn't that bad at that time for those people than nowadays.

@EF i this is crazy sis....i also think age gap of 16 yrs is too much....and your brother may be mature but the girl he's dating might be more mature than him......i heard the common thing was to older men to date younger women because girls are likely more mature than the same aged boys sooo....i support ur decision
Putting your emotions to the side, (not that you don't have a point),
1. How did they meet (or better how do they know each other)? 2. Who pursued who (or who asked the other out)? If your brother asked her out, regardless of how you feel, he still pursued her 3. Does she support him emotionally and professionally? 4. Have they done it (you know what I mean)? If yes, kinda late to intervene 5. What are their future plans (marriage, kids, something else)?
My guess is she really wants a kid and your brother wants someone to do it with, so she may be doing this partly out of desperation (or from enduring a toxic relationship). At the very least, he's legal (and if you don't like it, advocate to change the law to support the maximum age gap for young adults, like how we have its ra** if an adult (any age) has intercourse with a person below 18
@EF i to are some info I said they met on job, she was his boss, who approached who of course we will never know since they won't tell because of their age gap, she does not support him financially and he is no gold digger so please don't say that about my brother and I won't talk about their s** life with him, he won't tell me anything since he is very shy. What is more disturbing is that he was 17 when he started working with that woman, and he never put his eyes on older woman before either, he had a 3 year relationship with a girl his age before this. But he brought her home because she invited him to live with her "occasionally" since her home is closer to his university. I talked to him about how weird I think this is but he seems happy, and I am glad that he is, it's just that woman gives me the worst vibes, I swear mi brother still looks like a baby, not the type that looks older for their age but younger for it so it is so disturbing to see them together
