I do believe the author made the right decision in discontinuing this. Slavery is an incredibly sensitive topic, and no matter how carefully it was handled, I think the first chapter was always going to face heavy criticism over even the smallest mistake.
That said, I also feel that some of the negativity carried over from the *Wet Sand* fandom. Ever since TJ was confirmed as endgame, I saw people constantly comparing the two authors and saying Jaxx would never write an ending like that. From that moment, I had a feeling when this was released would spark a lot of conflict or controversy, regardless of the story itself.
@Stfu What the f*k are you talking about? This story is f**g insensitive to a very real subject that should not be made into yaoi slop! R*e is also horrible but there levels to ts actually stfu you rasict b*h
@Stfu two things can be true at once, r@pe is awful and so is slavery. Both things should be handled carefully in media and this author didn't do that so stop dickriding
@Arusha bruh all I said is that r*e is a sensitive topic as well and it's normalized as f*k in manhwas which is wrong yet ppl have problem with this manhwa js picturing a event in history? There was no glorification for slavery
@Arusha She wasn't insensitive about it? Slavery was a huge problem then, and I think could be used in a romance story to give more depth to the story. There are a lot of other stories that also explore ww1 or 2 and they also are very sensitive subjects, but as they are fxm they don't get as much criticism as the "yaoi slop" (do I hear some homofobia in there?). And you shouldn't compare to horrible things are are slavery and r*e. Bouth are horrible and saying r*e doesn't have that much of importance as the slavery is very sad to me since you also are a woman. Btw,r*e WAS PART of slavery, ther WAS R*E in the majority of slavery. Finally, calling someone racist just because they don't have that much of a sensitive opinion as yours is not right. Being racist and not having the same opinion as you do is not the same. But well, youre 15yo, what can I expect? π¬
