As for this adaptation, the more chapters it releases, the more it diverges from the original novel. In a bad way, of course.

@Mimi sucrette Let's take this chapter.
Spoiler!
This meeting with her "father", I recall that he bought her when she was still a child, was supposed to take place in the mansion of Count Krissus, but not in a carriage in the middle of nowhere. In addition, the secret witness to their "gentle" conversation was supposed to be Count Laslo himself, who was spying from the next room through special holes hidden in the interior in the wall.
@N_visor  I don't think this change is necessarily bad. This gives her the opportunity to be the one who tells Lazlo about the abuse instead of him spying on her. That gives her more agency in her story. If she chooses not to tell him, then I think the story will still let him find out about the abuse in a different way. perhaps they're saving the reveal for a more dramatic moment.

For all the changes the comic has made from the novel, I think a lot of them did a good job at giving the characters more depth and therefore making the story more interesting. Of course i don't think every change was good, but a lot of them have made the story more enjoyable for me.
