Give her something previous to you to hold, something small like a pendant with pic of family. Have paintings, if possible a video, do what they do for people who has alzheimer' or dementia to help keep memory of loved one. Not a complete fix but helps both parties. It will provide reassurance, evidence, and documentation for future.
