Idk it was mentioned that birth is "crucial" for those who bear the eyes of Natam, it's a must that they had to spread their seed to 'continue' the bloodline because if they didn't their blood will turn to gold and it will become a poison that will slowly kill the eye bearer, so unless Shuraka produce an offspring with someone else (since the author confirmed this wasn't an mpreg) he would perish as it was the 'gold punishment' of Natam.
