I think it's like a cycle makima told denji to kill the gun fiend and when he won he get to have any wish granted well now instead of the gun fiend its chainsaw man and if he was to be defeated the one who defeated chainsaw would be the target and so it goes on like this???

Nahh u got it all wrong . In this chapand the previous chap we get to know why makima has been planning alot since the beginning ..she was actually looking for pochita(chainsaw dog whom is said to be the he** hero) after an unfinished match because he got injured which we saw in the beginning of the manga ..so no it's not some circle bs ,the beefing has been on since the beginning ...
