No its quite normal the body just automatically close your eyes even though you don't want to, the reason is probably dust particles going inside your eye and the body noticed it or maybe your physiologically afraid of getting hit and if you close your else it feels like nobody is trying to hit you since you only see darkness...
Its just my theory i never actually confirmed it cause i chose thee other course than being a doctor/surgeon /therapist
@Sarcastic is right tho. I've been abusedso everytime I'd get beaten up or hollered on my eyes just close. Even now when someone screams my eyes automatically close.

@Mookay closing your eyes drasticly reduces the amount of information we recieve and makes it easier to calm down to collect ourselves, and since humans are a group species someone of our pack would usually defend us In this time
