@Ela G20 She got grounded because she made choices that almost got her and others killed despite being warned about the danger, and didn't fully understand how bad it was for someone in her position to be put in suck danger. If she died, many people would be held accountable for letting her go through that route with so few servants in a time and place bandits are rampant.
@Lorraine Sales trollface stickerwell isolating your wife it's like a child treatment.
Makes no sense.
@Ela G20 Yeah, and she acted like children that don't have any sense of danger and put herself in harm's way.
@Lorraine Sales   As a reader we're automaticaly aware that she's the protagonist so she'll be in danger but she's don't know all that. She just didn't think about the robbers at that time, they live in a big territory (if not the Capitol i don't remember) so an attack is still unpredictable because it could've happen to any noble that night.
Plus he did warn her in the morning but a lot happened that day so it's not weird that she forgot the danger we all forgot important things once in our life that doesn't make us childish or justify that he as her equal as any right to punish her or whatever.
We can't forget as well that she's an ordinary girl of our World that became one day a duchess in another world, I believe she's already trying her best and do pretty well, he cannot expect her to be the perfect duchess aware of every little conséquences her action will make after being a coutryside noble for her entire life.
@Papyta You forget it's historical fiction, so they have to pay dowry to marry, so he do have the right. The same way a father has the right to correct their children. She's lucky he didn't beat her for dismissing his warning.
She may not have lived in the noblest of society, but she lived until adulthood in both lives, and might even have read fictional novels like us. Would you, even without the general view, dismiss a warning about dangerous bandits in the area just because it might not happen to you?
Being from 21st Century would be more reason for her to be wary of those dangers as she knows how low humans can get, and if she's not childsh she wouldn't be petty about being grounded.
But disagreeing with her actions might just be because I grew up in a place and time where you have to be careful of even the people in our house, which it seems to not be the case for her, as she can be so careless to the point of almost seeing 2 of her servants dieing trying to protect her.
@Lorraine Sales pepe stickeras far as I understood he was angry caus she meet the lawyer and the divorce was mentioned .
He was angry about this and not about the robbery part .
He is just a pitty man justifying his wrong action .
Robbery in nobles happens everywhere and for everyone but his action were ronge.
@Ela G20  I re-read from the chapter were she asked for the lawyer and even though he was worried about the divorce, he still handed her a trustworthy lawyer business card and proceeded to warn her about not staying out until night because of bandits attacking specifically the noblewoman at night. She understood and even made plans to come back early, but got distracted and overstayed, and in her words:
"For Jeffrey and Anais to be in such danger...it's my fault.

If I hadn't unnecessarily stopped by Walter & Newman, if i hadn't dawdled, they both would have returned safely.
The robbers didn't appear in the original story, so i thought i wouldn't encounter them, i was too complacent... I have to take responsibility and protect these people."
As the event unfolds she makes more and more mistakes, even though I don't think it's entirely her fault because Jeffrey pis*** me off as well, undermining all her plans.

After he came to pick her, his only concern was about her safety, I don't understand why people keep talking about him overstepping the boundaries and grounding her, she got confined to the estate, not the house. She could go wherever she wanted within the dukedom, and could invite anyone to her house. And about the ring, he was angry because she gave it hoping they would just be done with it and go away. But it's not Korea giving it to the bandits could've just made them lose interest in attacking carriages and kill the servants to kidnap the wealthy noblewoman with rare pink diamonds. He got pis*** because she didn't think about her own safety as someone who just leveled up to be the wealthiest Duchess. One of the most important people in the Kingdom/Empire akin to a princess. It's a position that comes with countless rights, but even more duties and dangers. She needs to be more aware of it. But instead of reflecting, she's sucking. It just takes an "I'm sorry for putting myself in danger and from now on I want some nights to escort me outside when i go out."

If I were a Duchess I wouldn't go out without powerful knights, even if I had magic powers. Bad people do bad things. Being careless because you think nothing will happen, is just giving yourself in a silver plate.

That's what pis*** me off by most female leads in those manhwas, they just learn after being hurt to the point of dieing.
@Ela G20 I think the little marriage wisdom mother-in-law said to her make her take that decision. If you're married, sometimes you might be the one with more reasons to be mad, but if the other part is trying to close the gap and talk, being stubborn can do more damage to the relationship. She didn't say sorry for what she did that day or the ring or whatever else, she said sorry for being harsh and cold when he was trying to connect. If your spouse is taking the first step to break the cold war and lowering their guard to approach you in a shaky moment, then the right thing to do is lowering your guard too even if you are still upset, you can talk things better later
