Nobody's asking to see "kids", you mòron. The beef is with the laziest censòrship possible - big black blocks slapped over half the fùcking art with zero effort. No blur, no creative framing, no bubbles, just Ctrl+C/Ctrl+V black squares like a drunk intern did it in Paint.
If you can't tell the difference between critiquing shìtty editing and being a pèrv, maybe don't comment at all. Or better: close the tab, go wòke-scòld somewhere else, and stop pretending you're morally outraged after reading 13 chapters. 🐑
Judge one thing: percentage of the image covered. Many manga manage censorship with at least one brain cell - mosaics, "magic light", anything but a big lazy black bar.
If more than 1/3 of the panel is covered, drop the panel. Faster.
Drawings aren't children. You don't call PETA when the MC guts a monster, you don't call Human Rights for a fictional victim, and you don't scream "DV/SA" across 99% of BL.
Apply the same rule here. I'm not pro child pòrn, but let's be clear: the only thing that's real is the censor's laziness.
fair point, but in all honesty, mangakas really should try to avoid drawing things like under-age characters in the nude or in compromising positions as a matter of principle.
BTW BL is an abomination with how much non consent there is, same goes for a lot of Ecchi mangas, it's just not necessary or even all that good when there's that much forced drama and lack of respect. And I would call the relevant services if it would do something, even if it made the twisted mind of the Mangaka stop putting nasty things in their manga, but it's also easier to just put the manga away and try forget it was even drawn, people will draw what they are gonna draw, we don't have to like what the make, but we can stop paying attention to it. At least its fiction her
I only care about one thing: is it LEGAL to publish in its country of origin or not? That's the real line. For the rest, here's the deal: if you're not prepared to face a foreign culture that might clash with your personal sensibilities, then STAY INSIDE YOUR OWN CULTURAL BUBBLE AND STOP WHINING.
You're free to dislike it, drop it, ignore it, even criticise it - sure. But once you start talking like a missionary about what "shouldn't be drawn", you're no longer protecting anyone. You're just projecting your hangups on a culture that NEVER asked for your approval in the first place.
You don't have to like what they make. Just don't pretend your discomfort is some kind of moral compass.
