@Scyllas Yeah the whole system is messed up. I wouldn't sacrifice fertility when I had a different option. I am guessing that she either won't lose fertility or she won't participate in gene fusion.
@Prinzinc but if you think about it there really isn't another option for her you really think she can become as strong without gene fusion using zichens method?
@ShadowX The author has made it crystal clear that all methods have risks and there is no guarantee of strength regardless of what your early potential is. Since all of the methods contain risk and there is no guarantee of strength, then why not give the body refinement a chance instead? As far as I know, you can still go the cyborg or gene fusion route later if you want but the inverse isn't true.
@Prinzinc the body refining method has never worked very well for anybody and only the mc can make it work because of his constitution unless they discover something new about it later I think even mc knows this and that's why he is okay with her going gene fusion route
@ShadowX Really? Because it seems like it works fine for the majority but it's really the upper-tier levels that don't seem to be available at the moment. The dojo master seems to be powerful enough to hold his own even if he's not as power as other top tier talents and the process also extends life significantly so it would make sense for a lot of people to pick the body cultivation method at first and depending on how well that worked out (or didn't) switched over to another method. From what is said, it seems like genetic infusion needs to be spread out over years or it creates instability and cyborg implants can be done at any time. If you body cultivate at first and even if you have a limited success, you should be able to extend your life and thus have more time for more genetic infusions later if you really wanted to go that route. Also, this would give you much more time to start a family while you are feeling things out.
@Prinzinc I think all of them increase life span but gene fusion carries the most risk of your sanity if she tries it out she will definitely fall behind him more than she already has also it seems different people are compatible with these different methods and considering her constitution she is way more compatible with gene fusion so the faster she starts the more time she has to get stronger
@ShadowX I suppose it's possible that gene fusion with the right species can carry over longevity traits as well, however with gene fusion or even cybernetics you are still adding 1 + 1 and if you had a stronger original platform then it ought be even more powerful with the addition of other traits. For example, grafting cyborg parts onto a human skeleton has limits due to the strength of the bones but if the bones are stronger you could theoretically attach stronger parts. The same is likely true for gene fusion as well where the body and mind are likely to support a stronger foundational fusion the stronger the human body is.
There is also the possibility that the author will say that due to how high her fusion potential is, she doesn't lose her fertility.

@Prinzinc Yeah maybe she won't. I guess it just depends if the power you get adds or multiplies your original power
