It's crazy to me how women still choose to get pregnant with those numbers of death, literally just Russian Roullete atp.
But then again, women at that time were still heavily pressured by society to give birth otherwise they are considered useless plus they had to continue the population. Thank Gɔd we weren't born back then.

@Yww @Yww And another fact historians love to push the narrative that mothers were stoic cold and emotionless around their children witht he children ebcause of how high the morality rate was in-fact this was primary reason why in the middle ages children who turned seven were considered because it was extrmely rare for a child to grow up and even more rare not to die around that time limit

So in often cases families have to create LARGE ammount of children because most would likely have died off.

But in truth while the moralty rate did cause for high children it didn't stop or help when a child died r anwyays since most parent cried theyw ere just as emotinal as modern day parents. When their child died they felt deep sadness anger and quesiton because they wonder what they did wrong

Grief works in ways and it's sad how many mothers in the past.

And it was hard to emotionally distance when they are always around you. .
