@veiny dihh   i didn't say it erases the past. he still did those things and can't ever make it right. 
Here and now, how he is, is completely different in the best of ways, which is character development. "when a (fictional) character develops different personality traits, characteristics, attitude, and overall grows from who they originally were in the story.
