@Arawn they actually aren't legally married. It's more so the MC taking responsibility...
It's also to keep her darker side at bay too, she be wild. Not to mention, this world seems to have a very... Odd view of Woman throwing themselves at "Rich" old men. So, I'd say it's pretty much just to keep her satisfied.
Not for nothing, MC likes her enough to provide for her and gift her such things.
Also People keep saying MC is a pushover... I mean yeah, he lived as an average Japanese they aren't some weird chuunibyou who seeks some kind of power. He just wants to live quietly, adventure just finds him. Also Woman apparently.

@Puppy_Reader in my country we call it a "free union" (nothing legalized in papers though there is a proper way to set it up with papers, is more like concubinage)
