This really shows how different people’s experiences can be. I grew up in a country where homophobia was the norm, and I once had a girlfriend I was too scared to tell my parents about. I still remember defending qu*** people during a conversation at home with my grandmother , then crying in my room. My mom came in and gently asked if I had something to tell her. I said no, just that it wasn’t fair...people are just in love. She told me it doesn’t matter who I love, as long as I’m happy, even if it’s a girl, she would accept her.
That moment stayed with me. My parents have grown a lot since then, and I’m grateful I’d be safe with them no matter what. And for anyone who’s scared: family isn’t just who you’re born into, it’s also who you choose. Stay strong. 🌸💕
