ok so after she tried to run with Dietrich, Johanness caught Charlotte and dragged her back, and SA'd her while all the maids turned the other way. Then he made sure Dietrich was banished so he couldn't save Charlotte.
TBH I can see why she was so upset Dietrich gave up his knighthood in his past life. Without that title there was no way he could have saved her through marriage, since he became a commoner. And then when they tried to run anyway, they got caught.
And besides that, Johanness has no qualms about killing anyone who finds out he's abusing Charlotte. This is so f*****. That poor girl.
