While that hyung's reaction from the point of mc's confession till him realizing (after thinking everything over) he'd rather take a chance to explore a "new terrain" might be a rather logical step in exploring himself, in fact. An interest born from "to-be-or-not-to-be" would rather fail to develop to smth more, though.
