@Anonymous genuinely I get it that Maxi has her own deeply rooted self worth issues, but it was so jarring to read her in this chapter imagining that Riftan must be very angry with her. Like, this man is soooo comfortable transforming his worry into anger, his wife thinks he would be ANGRY at her and her guards for getting hurt. She has no idea he had a nervous breakdown in the middle of the infirmary, because why would she? She can imagine him getting hurt in battle, but not feeling hurt that she almost died.
