Ch. 47

I think only now I've realized how uncomfortable it makes me that a kidnapped and abused r*e victim is being treated so unseriously by the ml, creator, translator and the comments. Yeah the worst of all imaginable things are happening to him but that's one thing. Another thing is choosing to make him act needy and submissive. Still how everyone is just saying that the mc is "hungry for dih" just shows how dead our empathy is as a society. It's genuinely disgusting. Like I said before this story is a perfect opportunity to explore complex trauma patterns, isolation, conflicting and obsessive emotions. It could potentially discuss self harm, actual mental illness. Instead the characters' behavior seems shallow - ml not acting like this out of a mental illness but like a hurt guy going out of his way to simply get revenge, the mc acting like he's unable to think for himself. Throwing in an unreasonable amount of abuse and extremely violent sexual content won't make the story disturbing at it's core. It's seriously such a waste of potential, dawg.

@Vxxmpir3 Absolute facts. We're 47 chapters in, and there's definitely no development at all, it just keeps showing us what we know and doesn't develop from there.

@DoggyLuv I definitely don't enjoy r*e and abuse!! I think these topics should be used carefully in stories because they're really easy to misrepresent. I really like angst and psychological themes which is why I'm really hoping for this story to eventually take a different turn? So far I really dislike the character writing and how heavy topics are presented. Also people don't need to enjoy every story they read. Naturally we're supposed to form our own thoughts and opinions, gather what feels out of place and shallow. If you enjoy watching a character get kidnapped, raped and beaten up I highly recommend seeking professional help

@Vxxmpir3 There's a difference between criticizing something and just straight up insulting or unnecessary moral grandstanding over characters who don't exist. If someone sees violent media and think that's normal to do, it's not the creator's fault that person is mentally ill to begin with and you shouldn't lump them in with other people who may enjoy reading this because they just want a change of pace.

Maybe people read this because red flag to green flag tropes are getting boring asf and predictable, and they just want a red flag to remain a red flag all the way through. And if you want a red to green flag story or a complete green flag story, find it elsewhere. So yes, if something bothers you so badly that you have to write a damn paragraph, stop reading it. Let people read what they want ffs.

@Crablice Stated that just because you said I must be enjoying this if I've read over 47 chapters lolol. That's why I'm not wrong to assume you enjoy watching a character get raped and abused for "a change of pace". I also did not insult you, until you mean suggesting professional help to deal with enjoying watching character get abused is insulting to you? That would be pretty self-explanatory. Maybe that'll surprise you but I also hate red to green flag tropes. Watching a toxic character suddenly become all innocent only for the sake of redemption feels as if the creator was telling the readers "Look!! They might be a rapist and a murderer but they've apologized for it!" Not to mention that they always end up reducing that character's personality to a mindless, lobotomized puppet after a so called "redemption arc". I simply can't stands stories where characters feel shallow in their behavior - whether they're as you said "green" or "red" flags; As if there was no double meaning to their actions or any deeper explanation. Every character should have realistically written issues so that the reader can sympathize with them and have any care in the actual character. Their actions should be justified by something and they should stay pretty consistent in their behavior. An amazing example for fantastically written character personalities is "Lost In The Cloud". And yea I do tend to type in paragraphs but I could say the same exacting thing to you, couldn't I? - Don't like my comments - Don't read them!! I'm also using constructive criticism here, not hating on the whole story because as i've said it does have potential. This series isn't bad for including sexual violence - It's just portraying it in a poor, unrealistic way and uses so much of it that the violence itself starts having less meaning for the actual story but becoming an actual fetishization of r*e.
