Till now I thought that amon was not the twisted one...maybe the priest was brainwashing him but I think I am wrong....
Maybe whenever shah amon made any mistake or made mc disappointed in him he ordered them to erase his memory

@Sunimhii I said the same thing like, once he can't be controlled anymore Amon has him killed in a "ritual ' and then gets reincarnated again with no memories
