There are 3 stages of adolescence : Early adolescence (10-13), middle adolescence (14-17)and late adolescence/ young adult(18-21)
The age of consent in Japan was 13, so I assumed he's 13 because he said “I'm old enough to drink”
But he also said “I'm old enough too marry too”, which means he's about 15-16 because that's the marriageable age in feudal Japan.
