you're a bit naive if you think he really changed. The fact that he threatened mc just a while ago by saying "I don't want to hurt you again" (aka. "I'll force you like before if it comes down with it") proves that. If he was really changed he'd be too ashamed to show his face around Chen Li after seeing he can't forgive him.
But in the end we all know they'll end up together, so just wait a few more chapters and you'll have your wish fulfilled ig.
