They switched places. Sooin became a vampire through Chi using the other guys blood, Sooin than used his blood which was 'poison' to vampires, to 'kill' the vampire part of Chi-making him human. They're now links, Chi became Sooin's link as a human and Sooin became Chi-Hwan's vampire.
