As a novel reader and someone whos reread the manhua 3 times i can tell you its of doting older brother and not of a lover though I can't say the same for ninger and he truly only sees chu quincheng as hes lover/wife as you can see when got the heart demon and spat blood when he said those hurtful things to her he didn't actually mean and wasn't from his heart
