So like we have to write a story about whatever we want, but I'm not imaginative so it's kinda hard... And the story ideas I have are kinda goofy and my teacher is gonna have to read and grade them 😃
can you guys give me some ideas?? also please no romance preferably historical Also for some reason my teacher only wants 2-3 characters 😃

@Lanyard Revenge type manga seems best also isekai or reincarnation types with MC being a cultivator or magic user like I am the sorcerer king. Lol but with revenge types mc must stay same cold brutal and powerful were he seeks to kill n make these who betray him suffer a fate worse right
@Lanyard How about making the reincarnated being a dragon since they have been mentioned multiple times in history and relating it to a king that has betrayed them or is actively helping them whichever you prefer the storyline to go through. this can also be somewhat fact and historical based and you can add the option of fantasy if you wish to do so in the end it all depends on the specifics the assignment has and how many wors it'll be. After that comes: what genre do you prefer to write. For exemple, I myself love reading the romance, historical, revenge stuff from here but if I have to write something it is almost always in the psychological, horror genre. What I want to say is; that the things youblike to read and the things youbwrite might not be the same.
If you know what you feel comfortable writing with, it is easier to decide what you want to write. For Shortstories; it is easy to take something you happen to see or feel and twist it. (These are exemples out of my horror stories) For exemple, almost everyone heard their neighbors through the walls. And it is almost always nerve racking if there is a fight. You can go everywhere from this. If you want your protagonist to be a creep, let him hope for the next fight. If you want him to be hopeless, let him think if he is even able to stop the situation on the other side. etc. I myself would go with the hopeless protagonist who isnt able to sleep and slowly loses his mind. Sitting on his bed, making himself small and holding his hamds over his ears. Weeping, wailing, almost falling into despair as the memories from his own fights as a child try to surface. In the end my protagonist would run to the other flat, pounding the door, while there is a fight again. Only for the door to open to an empty flat.
See. For Shortstories it is easier to just go with a feeling or a small situation. Going for detailed things isnt possible.
If you really want to go into historical things, you could just use the same tactic. Take a scene youblike and write it from an emotional angle. Like the scene where the heroine promises revenge while dying. It doesnt need to be specific as the feelings carry the story.
@Lanyard you can do a psychological starring 1 character but split personalities to bolster the numbers. Or even have the MC be a sort of aloof antihero whose goal is satisfying their desire to be good all while being brutal. Kind of like the grey area of a moral compass where it's a matter of the lesser of two evils.
