Everything suddenly goes wrong when the ballroom goes dark and people start screaming as some kind of magical disturbance happens. A strange rift opens and several people get pulled into a place called the Otherworld, a distorted mirror of reality. Arel wakes up there in what looks like the Sharit Mansion but with eerie reversed colors. She realizes she’s in serious danger because the Otherworld is unstable and dangerous. Another girl, Leslie, also got dragged in, but she panics and runs away before the protagonist can stop her. Arel is weak and injured, so she decides not to chase after her. Alone and scared, she wonders how she’ll escape and quietly calls out for Mehen, and even starts missing her mother. Meanwhile, outside in the palace, Valar investigates the magical disturbance. The palace’s powerful defense crystal system hasn’t been damaged, which confuses him. While checking things out, a crack to the Otherworld suddenly appears. A wizard notices it too, realizing how dangerous it is because anyone dragged in could die. Valar initially tries to ignore it, but then a being called Sloth tells him that his daughter has been swept into the Otherworld. Hearing that, Valar immediately jumps through the rift despite the danger. Inside the Otherworld, Valar moves through the twisted environment without fear because he’s familiar with it and resistant to its effects. As he searches, he reflects on how strange it feels to worry about someone again after so long. Eventually, he finds his daughter sitting alone, hugging her knees.
