also, ur “forcing an author to abandon their work is just harassment” take ignores the actual issue. JAXX themselves admitted the story has “disrespectful depictions of other cultures and people.”
if ppl are calling out racist, disrespectful portrayals, that’s valid criticism of the work. calling all backlash “harassment” is just a way to dodge accountability for harmful writing.

There is a huge difference between leaving valid criticism on a work and dogpiling a creator after a single chapter. Calling out internet dogpiling isn't "dodging accountability"—it's pointing out the toxic reality of online harassment.
@Anonofurbusiness Exactly! The author was held accountable for all the right reasons. If viewing your concerns for a piece of media that's clearly pushing out harmful ideologies is considered harassment then were genuinely doomed. Obviously in no way should they receive threats of any kind, but people have to realize most authors are grown adults, we should stop babying them.
