The Israelites in ancient times had a whole battle group whose whole job was using slings to throw stones, often the size of modern navel oranges. They often stuck the left handers in that division, since the ways of fighting in ancient times relied on infantry holding a spear in the right and a shield in the left.

@Fk Nascimento To be precise, they used a sling -a pouch on straps or strings that works off centrifugal force- rather than a slingshot -a minicatapult that works off the elasticity of its materials. The difference is important -the first is far more devastating when you're dealing with Earth materials and physics.

@Galactic Navy Officer Yes... I've handled one in the past and really, they are quite dangerous to deal with, and when they hit, they do a lot of damage. I used one when I was in the countryside hunting lizards, but don't ask me why I was doing that, firstly because I don't remember lol
