Someone help me understand please.
So I know this is a misunderstanding, he thinks they're acting to go along with him, while in reality they're serious about it and things he says are really happening, but does he think it's acting too even when he's destroying a city or killing people or the so called "extras"? Or when he gets beaten up?

I think he's still helping fight these groups because it is happening but has no idea that everything his group is doing was rea

like ninja said i think he has some semblence of whats going on enough that he isnt blind but he just goes along with it becasue a its fufilling his goalof being the good guy who operates behind the scenes i.e a assasin whos better then the hero sorta deal . it might also be more of an overlord situation where this is all him jsut getting ragged along, but he doesnt seem to mind it so yeah>
tldr: he probably knows this is real hes just going with th flow casue its something he has always wanted
