His father's expectations and homophobic beliefs. I remember his father bit him up in one of the chapters when he questioned why he couldn't be open with Chunwoo, it was a flash from his past. Either way, he chose to hurt Chunwoo and make him feel unworthy so I don't care about his excuses.
