Comment on ChapterWet Sand - Chapter 31
i feel like a lot of people (women) who genuinely want ian to be with tj because of his "overprotectivness" just want it because this is a mlm relationship and they don't have an emotional connection to it cuz they're women reading 2 men in love . i can confidently say that if ian was a women, most people would probably hate tj and call joe a sweetheart

@unit 86  THANK YOU

yes, relationships between men and women tend to make people put the women in the wrong or in place of someone who has to take it and it happens between any kind of literature readers a lot, but i see women also tend to dismiss toxicity/abuse when the relationship is between two men. i even saw one saying "is men after all, what were you expecting" and honestly is sad that they say they support mlm relationships but give cloth to such homophobic conservative representation that all aquilean men are abusers/toxic here to take others innocence
@unit 86

this is such a normative cisexist way of seeing this. People, gay, straight or qu*** are complexe and different stories will bring up diff emotions.

Yes straight women are VERY emotionally detached from mlm reality and will project sexual desir above all, but also, look at how these stories are set up. They literally set ppl up to have these preferences and last I check the author of wet sand has not mentionned being straight or even a women.

also dont assume the readers are all women or straight.

@Loratte not all readers are straight or women, but a LARGE amount of bl readers are in fact women. i'm just saying it how i see and bringing up something that has happened many times before i
@Loratte also im agender so don't understand how i'm cissexual
@unit 86 ...it would have cost you 0$ to google what cisexist. And I donno how being under the trans umbrella somehow exornorates you from your original take and it' short coming. Use your brains to defend your point, don't throw your (non) gender identity at me.
@Loratte i did google cissexual and from what i've read, i don't see how i was giving that off especially since i said "a lot of" not "all" nor did i ever even say all readers were women. i'm not trying to start stupid beef online, i was simply just stating literal facts
@Yourdaddefinitelywantsme;) yeah i'll admit it to, tj is definitely hot but like you said i don't want him to end up with ian, nor do i think he should end up with ian
@unit 86

There's no literal facts, it's all complexe and speculative ( including my own takes) , we didnt do a study. We are going by observsations and stereotypes.

@Loratte it costs you 0$ to google the main market for bl. women are mainly creating bl stories and women are mainly reading bl stories. it's clear to see that many women in those spaces use submissive gay characters to fulfil their desires while being shielded from the abusive parts of a ship. It gives a barrier of separation between a woman who irl likely feels afraid of mysoginistic men, but still wants to be in a loving and spicy relationship. And for straight women in specific, they just find two hot men going at it sexier than hetero couples, but that's another thing. this isn't an opinion or a stereotype, it's literally a phycological thing. if you seriously refuse to acknowledge this i can't have a serious conversation with you. either way have a nice day
