TL;DR: It's a calm before the storm.

The Writers want us to theory craft what the situation is in preperation for the climax or the beginning of the big drama of the story. The Biggest thing we can gather from this is that Umi and Riku are a good match for each other, two peas in a pod. Originally Umi had a crush on Riku, however she often gazed at Takt because her instincts were telling her that he was bad news. However the more she payed attention to him the more she fooled herself into thinking she liked Takt. After the Arc where Riku was sick and she kissed Riku she's starting to realize that she prefers Riku's company. And with Takt catching onto Nanase and Riku. Nanase either decided to back off on her own, or Takt probably told her to stay away from him.
