He's was broken I guess or burned while he was captured by the prince. Beom lost his eyes at the rescue of his love.

i think maybe cause the chapter where he lived burned down .

While Beom tried rescuing ahn, the cradle of fire fell on his legs, rendering him disabled.

It's not the fire. There is no scars and he was unable to walk freely in the cell before the fire. But earlier there was this thing that crushed his legs while he was tortured.
