In stories like these, the authors never seem to take into consideration that even the smallest of changes can have the largest effects. As an example, the protagonist trying to sneak out vases and his father finding out about it, could in theory make the father's schedule change slightly. A small change in the schedule should logically not really have any real impact since it wont really affect other people that much. However there is one large change that could happen... and that is s**/siblings. If the fathers schedule was changed, then his time having s** with his wives/concubines could also change dates. Depending on when a woman has s**, this can affect the chances of her getting pregnant.
The sad version would be if this caused the Protagonist to no longer get a younger sibling. However, in cases where they don't originally have any younger siblings, it could change so that they now suddenly get one.
I have never seen this kind if thing, and i know it wouldn't be important to the whole "lets go back in time and become op" story that is being retold over and over again by so many authors. However, wouldn't it be rather fun/cute if the protagonists choice to not train etc, ended up having hiom get a new younger sibling. How would the protagonist react to this? Especially if say it is a case where he gets a younger sister that end up going aroudn idolizing him and becoming a real genius.
You make an interesting argument but i think that's altogether a seperate premise from what you usually see in these regression comics. Though i do agree with the notion that these stories almost never take proper account of the butterfly effect.
What you're proposing would imply that changes would imply changes in the time before the carachter gets returned to the past, which would make sense in the context of time ripples, like in Flashpoint in DC, but that's usually not the case that we see here. Though i really like your idea of coming back and sunddenly having a new sibiling, that'd definitly throw somebody for a loop

@nimk i read it and it's very interesting cause i always thought about this especially on the sorties where the regressor wants to see their children again and they succeed but it's notbreally realistic cause well like they said chances of having the same child are very very low
