@JustWatching It's all a matter of Narrative. People like their own favorite hero / whom the narrator says is the protagonist to win. While those they are told are evil are killed / brought down.
Anti-Spirals from Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, was genocided for wanting to put a stop to those who had the power of collapsing the Spiral and causing a universe ending black hole. But viewers see them as evil / the antagonist that needs ending.
Viltrumites from Invincible, 99.99% of their race was genocided off by a super virus. When their end goal is peace and unity in the universe. But everyone pushes the narrative that their evil, and it's okay to wipe them out. In-Verse. Because those who don't bow to their reign, get crushed.
Sauron from LotR. An Angelic Being (Maia) who loved order, efficiency, and harmony. And built the most technologically advanced empires with a 0 crime and homeless rate. That gave jobs, freedom, and livelihood to the marginalized / kill-on-site races. Even in his letters. J.R.R Tolkien said Sauron had a point.
But readers cheer when they get murdered off in droves.

All that too point out. It all matters on Narrative. To those otherworlders. They're only know their Hero is on an All-Hero Team, and who knows what they were told about Earth other than them being evil and needing to be wiped out to save that universe's dimension.
And by cutting off sound. Makes it easier to demonize humans in the invaded dimension, and a narrator to spin the narrative.
