@zalystr well the reason they did that was  to create tension. when a character is too smart they avoid to much danger making the tension go down so to create tension they made him not question it. that's the explain but for the story explain on why he didn't question that was because a few scene earlier he was occupied with the vision then the cure so his mind isn't really focused on it so that smy best explanation for that
