I see a lot of hate on Matahachi - and while I think the same (his being a ret***), he's definitely a great character. He's an amazing foil to Musashi. Wonder what kinda sh**'s gonna go down when they properly reunite

Hes definitely supposed to be hated, however youre totally right. Hes the perfect contrast to Musashi, I even think his character is a bit relatable when it comes to his frustrations about himeself. I think out of most characters weve seen so far, Matahachi has been the most "human" in his flaws and degeneracy for the average reader

@da-way_joshua why depressed ? Trying letting everything go and live in a poor country with nothing. You will suffer a lot, maybe that's what you need , you need to suffer a bit to feel alive. It makes me feel alive.
