Sometimes there is but it usually messes up the story cuz then the mc gets side tracked and strays for the path of revenge or whatever their goal is cuz their love interest finds some way to be useless and is always in need of the mc. I don't think that'll happen in this story tho

Romance can be a good sub plot for most action/revenge plots if done correctly. But if it turns out to be harem type of romance sub plot, you know that it's gonna be sh**

Most people regardless of the life they live will at some point become intimate with another person, so it's not unnatural for him to end up liking someone or someone liking him 🫤

For those worried about quality dropping cause of romance,  first its not a harem, so it won't be garbage at least. Second, that just means the writer is garbage if they fall to romance cliches and it ruins the story. Which means it wasn't gonna end up good in the first place.
