It's more complex than that, i do that with my students and you can bait certain responses if you think of the topic your word might belong to, avoiding specifics.
Everyone has to see first if they're part of the minority without giving too much info, and then they have to make their word blend seamelessly with the mayority to draw less suspicion towards you.
