Um is it not common knowledge that in the murim world there's no one who doesn't know martial arts?
Or is that not the case?

That's not necessarily the case, because martial arts in the murim world are generally only taught within specific clans/families or institutions. So if you're a nobody with no connections and little talent, then you're usually out of luck. And it's probably a 50% chance that someone who delves into research (like someone who happens to work in a clinic) is someone who has no desire to fight, and therefore likely doesn't have martial arts experience. That's just my theory, though.
@Ashtauriel I swear to g** every manhwa/manhua I read with a murim world setting, they make it seem like not knowing martial arts is the same as not knowing how to eat
