This story’s title doesn’t lie—the prince is problematic. He’s not the usual angsty, abusive, misunderstood bad boy, but he’s still trash. He’s blunt, emotionally robotic, and treats the FL like a jester for his amusement, rewarding or mocking her like a pet. He never takes her seriously, and I have no idea what she sees in him.
The FL? A "strong" doormat. She endures endless mistreatment, lets people walk over her, and never truly stands up for herself. Her only sensible ally is her maid, Lisa. Despite studying to fit into aristocratic society, she remains helpless and dependent on the ML. Even after being humiliated, she takes no real action, keeps toxic maids around, and swallows her anger. People mistake this for strength, but she’s just good at being a victim.
Their relationship is a joke. She forgives too easily, and he never learns from their fights. A smile, a flirt, or a half-assed gesture is all it takes for her to move on. When she thought she was pregnant, he laughed instead of discussing it seriously—like, what’s so funny? Then he makes an inappropriate joke about only sleeping in her bed if she makes him touch her. Gross. She lets him do whatever, reinforcing his behavior.
Worst part? Their fights go nowhere. She starts them, but she’s always the first to cave. They don’t communicate, reflect, or grow—just laugh, move on, repeat. He doesn’t even answer when she asks how he feels about fatherhood, just laughs and puts her to bed. He treats her like a child he sleeps with occasionally.
The background characters? Just haters to highlight how much abuse the FL can take. She even rewards her toxic maids, thinking it’ll earn their loyalty when they’d drop her in a second. She’s naive, ignorant, and a textbook doormat.
