One of the peak manga out there, right up there with Ao Ashi. Everything is great, the plot, the matches, the character development. But the one problem I have with it is that only a limited number of side characters actually got really good development. Some of them get their spotlight then suddenly go back to square one, and others are just straight up fillers.
I really wish more characters got a proper spotlight and the development they deserved. Lennon for example is a great defender from start to finish but I do not think he ever got the development he deserved for how consistent he was throughout the story. And the new CB combo after Jouji at the finals, Jouji and Ringo say their kohai surpassed them but those kids end up feeling more like filler characters than anything close to what Jouji and Ringo were. They had so much potential for proper development that just never came.
